Visiting Fellows

One of the goals of Hoover IP² is to create the theoretically informed and empirically sound scholarly literature that is a necessary cornerstone of far-sighted public policy. To do so requires that an interdisciplinary network of researchers developes-a group of researchers that produces scholarship that can get over the peer review bar.

Hoover IP² conferences bring together scholars, policy makers, IP attorneys, and industry practitioners from around the world to present and debate their research findings in an open, interdisciplinary forum. Building a research network, however, requires more than conferences; it also requires bringing scholars together for prolonged periods to collaborate.

Visiting appointments under the umbrella of Hoover IP² at the Hoover Institution allow for this kind of long-term collaboration and interaction with Hoover and Stanford colleagues, faculty from other Bay Area colleges and universities, and professionals and legal experts in Silicon Valley. Hoover IP² visiting fellows typically spend three to six months in residence at Stanford University.
